MEOKO's end-of-year feature on contemporary dance music pioneers — those who challenge old concepts, break boundaries and create new avenues — included Julian Perez among a group of artists reshaping the underground scene in 2014.
The feature highlighted his Fathers & Sons Productions label as a standout example of the new breed of artist-run, quality-first imprints redefining how underground music reaches its audience:

The list of pioneers in the feature included Raresh, Petre Inspirescu, S.A.M., Lazare Hoche, Mandar, Francesco Del Garda and others who were, in MEOKO's assessment, not just producing or playing good quality music, but doing both while running their own forward-thinking labels and events.
The recognition came at the height of Fathers & Sons Productions' most active period — with releases from Livio & Roby, S.A.M., Brian Harden and Perez himself having earned support from Ricardo Villalobos, Zip, Sonja Moonear and The Martinez Brothers.
